Dr. Ana Iglesias Mejuto, researcher in the I+D Farma Group, has been granted the PhD Thesis Award 2024 by the International Sol-Gel Society (ISGS) in recognition of her work. She completed her doctorate at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain), supervised by Prof. Carlos A. García-González and Dr. Inés Ardao-Palacios.

Her thesis centered on the synthesis of advanced aerogels by combining natural biopolymers with biofunctional nanoparticles, integrating 3D printing techniques.
